Spiritual Realm 101 and FAQ’s!

A History of Angels - Angelic Wisdom from THE Source.

Each week, I channel messages from my angels, specific Archangels, my spirit guides, and occasionally other loved ones in spirit who step forward. These messages are offered with one intention: to heal, to uplift, and to remind you that you are deeply loved. I hold this work with great reverence and humility, often asking why I was entrusted with this gift. I believe God—Source, or what many call the Creator—communicates through the angels.

Trust that these words will reach you exactly when you need them. I believe deeply in divine timing and in a universe that supports you, if you allow it. Lean in. Let go. Surrender, like the ocean, which you will find is a theme on A History of Angels. My hope is that these messages serve you—whether by offering healing, clarity, or simply a moment of peace.

What do you mean by…..?

More people are finding their way back to God, Spirit, and a deeper understanding of the spiritual realm. Church attendance in the United States is up for almost every religion.  Yet, for many, the language of spirituality can feel unfamiliar or even overwhelming. When I tell people that I am a channel, I’m often met with the same question: What exactly does that mean?

For the record, much of this was once new to me too. I am still learning, still evolving, and continuing to expand my own consciousness. But even the word consciousness can raise more questions. What is consciousness? What is energy healing? What does a medium do? How is intuition different from psychic ability? And what truly happens during a psychic reading?

These are questions I hear often. Many of my clients have never experienced energy healing. Some are unfamiliar with mediumship or have difficulty understanding intuition. Others may have visited a psychic but still do not fully understand what psychic abilities are or how they work.

Recently, a friend spent time reading through the articles on A History of Angels and said to me, “There is so much here that I don’t understand. You use terms I’ve never even heard before.”

She was right.

It is time for Spiritual Realm 101—a straightforward introduction to the spiritual world and answers to some of the questions I am asked most often. If you are beginning a spiritual journey, exploring your own intuitive abilities, or simply curious about the unseen world around us, this article was written for you.

I do not claim to be an expert on all things spiritual. I am a channel for the archangels and Spirit, and I continue to learn through my own experiences, the messages I receive, and the wisdom of extraordinary teachers and mentors who have helped guide me along the way.

What follows is what I have come to understand and believe to be true, shared through my own experiences and in my own words. My hope is that it brings greater clarity to a world that can sometimes feel complex, mysterious, or difficult to explain.

Wherever you stand on your spiritual journey—or your path of ascension—I hope this guide helps you better understand the spiritual realm and the language surrounding it. And if you know someone who is beginning to ask these same questions, please share this with them.

Sometimes, understanding begins with simply knowing what questions to ask.

Let’s start at the beginning with God.  The Creator and Source of all that is and who I must thank for giving me this opportunity of leading people back to God, back to their light, and back to their heart center.  Multiple people have told me they are not sure what they believe, not sure what to believe, but know there is something.

Who and what is God? Why do you call him Source or Creator?

This is a deeply personal question, and many people have their own thoughts and beliefs about God, often shaped by their religious traditions and experiences over time.

I believe God is the Creator of the Universe. He is the beginning and the end—the Alpha and the Omega. He is, He was, and He always will be. This is why I often refer to God as the Creator, for He created the universe and continues to sustain it.

I also believe God is the purest form of divine energy—an energy made entirely of unconditional love.

That’s right. LOVE.

I believe the divine energy that sustains the universe and flows from God is love. I have heard this message countless times in my channels—from the archangels, from Jesus, and from my guides. The message is always remarkably consistent: God is love.

The archangels often refer to God as Source—the Source of all that is, all that was, and all that is yet to come. It is also the reason I named my newsletter Straight from THE SOURCE. The name reflects the very heart of the messages I receive and share.

Anthony William, also known as the Medical Medium, has described himself as receiving guidance from the Spirit of Compassion and is the author of numerous books. He once offered a simple way of expressing these spiritual ideas: “God is love, Jesus is forgiveness, and the Holy Spirit is compassion.”

It is a beautiful and succinct way to sum it up.

Why do people say God Energy, what is it?

From a scientific perspective, the human body is an extraordinarily complex system that constantly uses, produces, and transfers energy. Our hearts beat through electrical impulses. Our brains and nervous systems communicate through electrochemical signals. Our cells require energy to function, and the body continuously converts energy to sustain life.

In fact, the electrical activity within the human body can be measured. An electrocardiogram, or ECG, records the electrical signals of the heart, while an electroencephalogram, or EEG, measures electrical activity in the brain. Science has long recognized that electrical and chemical processes are fundamental to the way the human body functions.

Even on a very simple level, you can rub your hands together for a few moments and feel heat generated through friction. You may also experience sensations such as warmth, tingling, or static between your palms. While science can explain many of these physical sensations through biological and electrical processes, spiritual traditions have long explored the idea that human beings also possess a subtle energetic nature.

This is where science and spirituality begin to ask different questions.

I believe the universe exists within a divine energetic framework—a magnificent, interconnected system created by God and sustained through pure, unconditional love. In spiritual teachings, you may hear people refer to “God Energy,” “Source Energy,” or “Divine Energy.” These terms are attempts to describe the presence, power, and creative force of God moving throughout existence.

For me, God is the Source of all creation. The energy of the universe does not replace God; it originates from God.

This also offers an interesting way to consider the biblical teaching that humanity was created in the “image of God.” Some interpret this passage literally, while others understand it in a spiritual or theological sense. Rather than suggesting that God physically looks like a human being, the “image of God” may point to something deeper within us—our spiritual nature, our consciousness, our capacity to create, to love, and to connect with the Divine.

From a spiritual perspective, you might think of this as a divine blueprint: the essence of who we are before and beyond the physical body.

Science helps us understand the remarkable physical systems that allow the human body to function. Spirituality asks us to explore the deeper questions of consciousness, the soul, and our connection to God.

We are not simply physical bodies moving through the world. We are spiritual beings, created by God, experiencing life through the extraordinary vessel of the human body.  Through my channels, and my countless energy healing sessions, I believe God created humans as energetic beings.  Energy can be transmuted and changed, not erased or pushed away.  We will explore more of this as we delve into energy healing, the chakras, and how energy can be manipulated.

What is the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine?

The Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine are spiritual energies believed to exist within every person, regardless of biological sex or gender. The Divine Feminine is associated with intuition, receptivity, nurturing, compassion, wisdom, healing, and the ability to receive. The Divine Masculine is associated with divine will, purpose, strength, action, protection, direction, and creation. Spiritually, neither energy is considered greater than the other. The goal is balance—allowing the receptive wisdom of the Divine Feminine and the purposeful action of the Divine Masculine to work together in harmony.  Divine Feminine does not mean woman, and Divine Masculine does not mean man. We all carry aspects of both energies.  Archangel Metatron is aligned with the Sun and is the overseer of the Divine Masculine.  Archangel Sandalphon is aligned with inner or hollow Earth and is associated with the Divine Feminine.  I believe God, Jesus, and humans all encompass both Divine Masculinity and Femininity.

Define Spirit?

The word Spirit can mean different things depending on the context in which it is used. This is especially true in the spiritual community, where psychics, mediums, and intuitives may use the term in several different ways.

The first use of the word Spirit may refer to the soul of someone who has passed from this life and returned to Heaven. Some people refer to these souls as spirits, while others may use terms such as ghosts or departed loved ones.

The second meaning of Spirit refers to our own spiritual essence. I believe that our spirit resides in Heaven while our soul is here, experiencing life within the human body on Earth. When we pass from this life, our soul returns to Heaven and reunites with our spirit.

The word Spirit may also refer to the Holy Spirit. This is where the terminology can sometimes become confusing or be taken out of context. I believe the Holy Spirit exists within God, or what some Christian traditions refer to as the Godhead: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Finally, Spirit is often used as a broad or collective term for communication and guidance received from the spiritual realm. You may hear an intuitive, psychic, or medium say, “I am passing along a message from Spirit.” In this context, Spirit may refer generally to guidance coming from the other side—whether from the spirits of those who have passed, spirit guides, angels, or other beings within the spiritual realm.

Because the word can carry several meanings, understanding the context in which it is being used is important. Throughout A History of Angels, I will do my best to clearly explain what I mean when I use the word, Spirit.

What is a Spirit Guide?

A spirit guide is a loving spiritual being who is assigned to guide and support you throughout your life. I believe each person has at least one primary spirit guide who is with them from birth and remains by their side for the duration of their earthly journey.

Many spiritual teachings also suggest that we have additional spirit guides who work with us at different times throughout our lives. Unlike angels, spirit guides are believed to have experienced life on Earth. They may have been teachers, ancestors, healers, or helpers, and some may have worked with us across multiple lifetimes.

Additional spirit guides may come and go depending on the circumstances of your life, the lessons you are learning, or the type of guidance and support you need at a particular time. Your primary spirit guide, however, remains with you throughout your lifetime.

You can call upon your primary guide—or any of the guides working with you—for help in virtually every area of your life. You may ask for guidance with business, school, relationships, or finding love. You can even ask for help finding the right home or, yes, a parking spot!

No request is too small. Your spirit guides are there to help, guide, and support you, and you can call upon them for assistance with almost anything.

For more information about spirit guides and how to work with them, visit the Learn tab and explore the Spirit Guides section.  Two of my favorite books that discuss Spirit Guides in great detail are “Ask Your Guides” by Sonia Choquette and “The Happy Medium” by Kim Russo.

What is an Angel?

Angels are divine messengers created by God to worship him and serve humanity.  They are energetic allies who exist beyond the physical realm, ready to support, guide and protect you.  Angels are pure celestial beings created by God to serve him and watch over God’s people.  They vibrate at a frequency of unconditional love and are always available to help, but they honor your free will and wait to be called on and called in.  There are nine choirs of angels, all with different roles and classifications from the Seraphim to Thrones, to Cherubim.  More info is found on our Angel 101 tab under Learn.

What is an Archangel?

There are nine choirs of angels, one of those choirs and some of the closest to humans are the archangels.  The archangels have specifically been selected to aid humans and humanity.  The archangels were created to serve God, uphold divine order, and act as protectors of the heavenly realm.  They have been entrusted in guarding the gates of heaven, watching over creation, and serving as sacred conduits between the Divine and mankind. Many of the archangels are referenced in multiple religions including Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.  They are referenced in the bible in multiple verses.

What exactly is the role of a Guardian Angel?

Your guardian angel is an assignment from God.  They are an angelic being assigned to you from your soul’s creation and they stay with you for eternity.  They are assigned to guide, protect, and support you throughout your lifetime.  Guardian angels do not judge, interfere with free will, or abandon you.  They are filled with unconditional love for you that is a bond like no other.  They are by your side literally every day of your life; you are never alone.  They work in the background supporting you in this life and in the heavens when you pass on.  While you have one guardian angel from the creation of your soul, you can have more than one guardian angel assigned to you at one time.

We’ve covered a lot of ground. We’ve discussed our Creator and the Source of all things, explored the universe and what I believe to be its divine energetic grid of unconditional love, and taken a closer look at what—or who—we mean when we use the word, Spirit. We also touched on spirit guides and angels, but there is still so much more to explore.

In conclusion….

In Part Two of Spiritual Realm 101, we will continue the conversation by exploring energy, consciousness, and healers. We’ll discuss channels and how people like me receive—or “download”—information from the spiritual realm. We’ll also break down what psychics and mediums do and explain the differences between these spiritual gifts and abilities. What are the clair’s?

Stay tuned and let us know what you think. Most importantly, tell us your biggest questions when it comes to all things spiritual, supernatural, and unseen. Your questions may just become part of our next discussion.

There is so much more to learn—and we are only getting started.  Last, many people ask me for book recommendations or how to start down this path of spiritual awakening.  Some of my most recommended books are as follows:

The Bible and the Bible app called You Version.

The Light Between Us: Laura Lynne Jackson

The Happy Medium: Kim Russo

Ask Your Guides: Sonia Choquette

The Archangel Guide to Ascension: Diana Cooper

“God is Spirit, and only by the power of his Spirit can people worship him as he really is. “ John 4:24

Sending you so much love and blessings!
